Tom Clancy's The Division Poster

The Division is an online RPG third-person shooter video game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. In an open world map, players of this game go on missions to restore order and investigate the source of the virus as well as explore the environment and gain loot. To celebrate the sequel of the game coming out, I decided to create a badass poster.

How to make that cool dude POP!

I first searched around for images of The Division characters from concept work to loading screens. After I found one, I went into Adobe Photoshop to erase the background and imported the single man into Adobe Illustrator to image trace him with the high fidelity setting. I then edited the colors to make him grayscale which made an interesting contrast from the red and black background.

Changing Theme Colors and Making a Background

I grabbed The Division logo and turned it into a vector so I could easily recolor it with that rich red color (instead of the game’s typical orange theme color) and add an outer glow to make it stand out from the dark background. Afterwards, I experimented placement and sizing with the circles around the logo and changed the uniform stroke to one that was thinner on the sides. As my final touch, I image traced a map from the game and adjusted the colors to match the red.
